Please Note
I am an antique and vintage seller. All vintage and antique items have flaws. That is the nature and charm of aged and well-loved decor. If you are looking for pristine new decor, please do not purchase vintage or antique items from my shop. Everything I carry will show signs of age, use, and history. Please look closely at all photographs and read the description carefully before purchasing.

Antique Silver Tea Set

Blackinton Silver Plate • Circa 1900–1915

An elegant early 20th century American silver-plated tea service by B.S. Blackinton, beautifully designed with ornate Rococo Revival details and graceful Edwardian proportions.

This three-piece set features sculpted scroll handles, decorative claw-style feet, and matching finials that give the set a refined architectural presence. The soft aged silver surface carries a natural patina that highlights the intricate detailing and adds rich character.

Pieces like this were originally used for formal tea service during the Edwardian period, but today they make stunning decorative objects for romantic interiors.

Displayed on a table, sideboard, or bookshelf, the set creates an instantly timeless atmosphere.

Perfect for styling in:

Condition

Beautiful antique condition.

• Structurally excellent
• No dents or repairs observed
• Hinged lid operates smoothly
• Natural antique patina present
• Silver has not been recently polished

The soft wear and patina give the set its wonderful old-world character. It may be polished if a brighter finish is preferred, though many collectors and decorators prefer the aged surface.

This antique tea service is over a century old and carries the elegance of a time when tea was a daily ritual and beautifully crafted silver graced every table.

A timeless decorative piece that brings romantic old-world charm into a modern home.

NOTE: Aged silver—whether sterling, silver plate, or silver over copper or brass—naturally develops character over time. Tarnish, a darkening caused by oxidation, is a normal and expected part of this process and is intentionally not polished away, as many collectors value the depth and authenticity it adds. You may also see gentle wear where the silver has thinned to reveal underlying metals, along with small age spots or surface variations. These are not flaws, but rather honest signs of age that reflect the piece’s history and contribute to its unique appeal.Antique and vintage item condition
Please remember that vintage and antique items have lived full lives before reaching your home. Signs of age such as light scratches, surface wear, patina, minor discoloration, tiny flea bites, manufacturing irregularities, age-related fading, crazing, tarnish, or other imperfections are common and should be expected with previously owned pieces. I do my absolute best to carefully inspect, photograph, and describe each item honestly and thoroughly; however, due to the nature of vintage and antique goods, there may occasionally be minor signs of wear, imperfections, repairs, or age-related characteristics that are overlooked or not immediately visible during inspection. These characteristics are considered part of the charm, authenticity, and history of vintage and antique items and are not typically considered defects. Please review all photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase, as all sales are based on the understanding that these pieces are pre-owned and will naturally show evidence of age and use over time. I do not refund based on "this wasn't what I expected". My pictures are very clear and obvious. The only thing you might not be able to discern without an in-person inspection might be color as that can be different from one monitor to another. However, I explain the colors very clearly and that should never be cause for a return.

Aged Metals
Aged metals—including sterling silver, silver plate, brass, and copper—naturally develop character over time. Silver will tarnish (a normal oxidation process), while brass and copper may darken, dull, or develop patina and verdigris. I do not polish these finishes, as many collectors value the depth, warmth, and authenticity they bring. You may also see light wear, including areas where silver plate has thinned to reveal underlying metal, along with age spots, surface variations, or minor discoloration. These are not defects, but expected signs of age that reflect the history and unique character of each piece. I do not accept returns because something was not polished or has rust or other logical conditions for aged pieces. My pictures are very clear.
